What does the Chamber do?

The North Vancouver Chamber supports a strong, local business community that is thriving thanks to North Vancouver’s growing and affluent population, an increase in its younger demographics, and an injection of millions of dollars into its industry. We make business ownership easier by offering a variety of services and benefits to help members promote their business, develop strong networks, and overcome obstacles to business growth.

What exactly is a Chamber?

A Chamber, or Chamber of Commerce, is a not-for-profit organization that’s governed by the Board of Trade Act. It’s a network of local businesses, professionals, and other community groups working towards furthering their collective interests within the community. The members elect a board of directors to set policy for the Chamber. The board then hires a President, CEO or Executive Director and other staff to run the organization.

At the provincial and federal level, the BC Chamber of Commerce and the Canadian Chamber of Commerce also advocate for public policies that foster strong, competitive economic environments.
